Timothy J Jarvis is a writer and scholar with an interest in the antic, the weird, the strange. He currently lives in London.

In 2001, while working in a temporary position at a London mental hospital, he came across a very short antic text scrawled on a wall. It evoked a shudder of the uncanny, for it described something fantastic, but in such a way as to seem more account than story. Since that time, he has sought out like texts.

This blog collects those unsettling narratives.

That first antic text can found here.

A note about the soundtracks: these are tracks by some of the best contemporary drone/ambient artists – if you enjoy the music, support these artists by buying albums, preferably either directly from them or from independent record labels.
